There is a video on you tube where one of Obama’s Czars named Van Jones is asked about the slow progress of the Progressive Agenda in the Democrat lead US government. The exchange is quite humorous, to say the least.
[unnamed progressive] “How were the Republicans able to push things through when they had less than 60 senators, but somehow we cant?”
[Van Jones] “Well the answer to that is they’re assholes.”
So much to say. So much to point out.
1. Use of the word “we”. The lady, not a member of Congress, is talking to one of Obama’s Czars. I am assuming that Obama has not changed the process yet to allow his Czar buddies power to create laws. I could be wrong, but I don’t think that they can yet. So we have a progressive (her words, not mine) asking the Presidents buddy why WE cant get anything done.
I mean, clearly the progressives understand that Obama is one of them. How does he get away pretending to be middle-of-the-road?
2. The obvious part. Republicans are assholes. Watch the rest of the video and you see what he meant. He meant that Republicans had no problem ramming through their policies with little or no Democrat support. But Obama is different. Obama is not an asshole. And Democrats do not cram through laws unless they have Bipartisan support.
Yes that is correct. Someone just said that the Democrats will not pass legislation just because they have the votes to do it. The Democrats want bipartisanship, and having a majority of the votes isn’t enough. Obama wants everyone to be onboard with his ideas before he will advance them. Because “Obama isn’t an asshole”.
3. The Timeline. This exchange happened about 3 weeks after Obama took the oath of office. And the lady wants to know why the progressive issues that her and Obama care about so much haven’t been pushed through yet. Listen to what she says. She clearly wants to know why Congress is not following the will of her partner in The White House, and shoving the important issues through.
So, what have we learned? Progressives understand that Obama is on their side. Obama would never stoop to signing Progressive or Socialist policies just because he has the votes to do it. But most importantly we learned that when someone on your team asks you a difficult question, just call the other team a bunch of assholes, and then lie.
